Bushfires and then…..
Early 2020 has been the most challenging of times for many Australians. It wasn’t long ago that we were grappling with the enormity of the bush-fire effort, and our collection tins were overflowing with generous community support. Covid-19 was the last thing we needed as it stretched our remaining threads of resolve. The very real risk of serious illness combined with necessary social distancing has meant we needed to change time honoured ways of doing things.
Adapting to a new world
At Kosmac & Clemens Optometrists we were able to adapt quickly to the new “normal”. We took the position that your eyes are no less important than they were before, and so we have remained on deck throughout the Covid-19 period.
Safety and service
Keeping our patients safe, while continuing to offer an essential service, was paramount. We have achieved this in a number of ways: by reducing the number of customers permitted in-store to comply with departmental regulations, increasing gap times between appointments, providing multiple hand sanitation stations within each practice, and increasing distances between waiting room chairs. Our optometrists perform their examinations wearing protective face masks, and between consultations staff members are busy sanitising chairs, testing instruments, and demonstration spectacle frames.
To help minimise your in-store contact time we offer over the phone payment services, and will happily post out contact lenses and completed glasses. Afterpay and Openpay services are also now available if needed.
The other side?
As we slowly emerge from these difficult times, Kosmac & Clemens remains open and ready to provide you with outstanding eye care services and products, in the safest environment possible.
Australian made – locally delivered
Finally and importantly, we are proud of the fact that the majority of our lenses are locally sourced and manufactured in Victoria. In this way Kosmac & Clemens Optometrists is supporting local jobs and helping rebuild our communities. By shopping locally, you can help achieve the same, and become part of the solution.
